About the Rosenwald Center for Cultural Enrichment

Our mission is to honor and preserve the historic Rosenwald School sites in Greene County, NC, transforming them into a cornerstone for community renewal and economic opportunity that uplifts the neighborhood and celebrates our shared heritage.

The Rosenwald Center breathes new life into historic Rosenwald Schools across Greene County, transforming these vital educational landmarks into thriving community hubs. We honor the legacy of the Rosenwald school building program—which opened doors of opportunity for African American children—by preserving these sites as spaces for cultural celebration, community gathering, and economic revitalization. Our work connects past and present, ensuring that the spirit of education and empowerment continues to shape our community's future.
